Privacy policy

crypto-morocco.com is a static information site. You cannot create an account, we do not run advertising trackers, and we collect as little data as a website technically can. This page explains exactly what that means.

Fact-checked against official sources Independent · no partnerships

Who is responsible

This policy covers crypto-morocco.com in all three languages. The site is run by its independent editorial team, which is responsible for the processing described below. You can reach us about any privacy question at contact@crypto-morocco.com.

We apply Moroccan Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, supervised by the CNDP (Commission nationale de contrôle de la protection des données à caractère personnel). Because many readers live in the European Union, we also follow the principles of the GDPR: data minimisation, a clear purpose for each processing, limited retention and respect for your rights.

What we do not collect

  • No accounts. There is no registration, login, newsletter sign-up or comment system on the site.
  • No forms. We do not ask for your name, phone number, ID or financial details anywhere on the site.
  • No tracking cookies by default. We do not use advertising cookies, social-media pixels or cross-site trackers. Fonts and images are served from our own domain rather than from third-party networks.
  • No sale of data. We do not sell, rent or trade any information about our visitors.

If we ever add an analytics or measurement tool, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting server automatically records technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. We use these logs only to keep the site running, to detect abuse and attacks, and to fix errors. They are kept for a maximum of 12 months, then deleted or anonymised, and are not combined with other data to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

The price converter

Some pages include a live BTC, ETH and USDT to dirham converter. To show current prices, your browser sends requests directly to two public services. The first is the CoinGecko API (api.coingecko.com), for crypto prices in dirhams; the second, used only as a backup when CoinGecko is unavailable, is the Coinbase public rates API (api.coinbase.com). These requests are made from your device, so those providers receive your IP address and standard browser information, as they would for any website you visit. We do not send them anything else, and we do not receive any data back about you. Their own privacy policies apply to that processing. If you prefer to avoid these calls, you can block scripts on the price page; the rest of the site works without them.

Email

If you write to contact@crypto-morocco.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to answer you and, for corrections, to follow up. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete it. Please do not send us passwords, seed phrases, ID documents or bank details: we never need them.

Our pages link to regulators, news outlets and exchanges. When you follow such a link you leave our site, and the other site’s privacy policy and cookies apply. Links to commercial sites are marked nofollow; we have no partnership with them and they receive no data from us beyond what your browser normally sends when you click a link.

Your rights

Under Law 09-08 you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to have it corrected and to object to its processing for legitimate reasons. Under the GDPR you may also ask for erasure, restriction or portability. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@crypto-morocco.com; we will reply within the legal time limits. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNDP in Morocco (cndp.ma) or with the data-protection authority of your EU country.

Changes

If our practices change, for example when we add a new tool, we will update this page and the date at the top. Related reading: our terms of use and disclaimer and the about page.
